To students no longer on a meal plan, the sight of the first grocery bill may be hard to stomach.
While many of the stores claim to have the best prices, only one can truly have the lowest. As of Sept. 26, Woodman’s offered the cheapest box of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Original and 11.5 oz box of Lucky Charms.
Walmart offered the cheapest can of Campbell’s Tomato Soup and 10oz bag of Lays Classic. For a gallon of 2 percent milk, Kwik Trip offered the lowest price. Aldi offered the cheapest prices for a gallon of skim milk, a dozen eggs and a pound of ground beef.
Aldi also offered the lowest prices for off-brand macaroni and cheese, tomato soup, marshmallow cereal and classic potato chips.
For customers over 21, Woodman’s offered overall the lowest prices for select beer, hard liquor and wine coolers. Price comparisons were completed looking at a six pack of Redd’s Apple Ale, a 30 pack of Keystone, a 12 pack of Miller and Bud Lite bottles, a one Liter bottle of Smirnoff Triple Distilled, a six and 12 pack of Mike’s Hard Lemonade, a one Liter bottle of Captain Morgan and a six pack of Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest.
