What’s happened: The Lady V-Hawks currently carry a 2-6 overall record, 1-0 in the Midwest Collegiate Conference. The team has faced an extremely difficult schedule, including games against nationally ranked NAIA foe Cardinal Stritch, Division II Winona State, cross-city rival UW-La Crosse, and NCAA Division I South Dakota. The team’s wins each came by a single point, one against Mayville State University and one against conference foe Clarke University.

Key moments: In the win against Mayville State, Viterbo trailed by three points with 30 seconds left. A three-pointer by senior point guard Brooke Anderson tied it, and junior Dani Templin hit the clinching free throw with five seconds left on the clock. Anderson also came up big in the clutch against Clarke, sinking a game-winning three pointer with three seconds remaining.

Statistical leaders: Templin leads the team in scoring with 10.4 per game. Guards Paige Babiash and Laquita Becker also average 9.6 and 6.6, respectively. Templin and Becker also pace the team in rebounds with 5.7 and 4.3 per game.

Looking forward: The core of this team has had a couple of years to mesh and is looking to make some noise in the Midwest Collegiate Conference. Templin and Babiash are coming off All-Conference efforts, and Anderson is coming back strong after a knee injury kept her out of the lineup last season. The V-Hawks will face another nationally ranked foe in Sterling College at the Las Vegas Hoopla on Dec. 20.
